On This Date in 1948: Musician and record producer Brian Eno is born Brian Peter George St. Jean le Baptiste de la Salle Eno in Woodbridge, England.

The Almanac Advises for May 15: "When choosing a name for their baby, some parents will bestow the newborn with a family moniker for a middle name. Being that in most Western cultures the child's surname is usually that of the father, a way to honor the mother's lineage is to give the child a middle name chosen from the maternal side of the family."
