For those Counting Crows fans who are kicking themselves for missing a show or two throughout the band's 15-plus year career, you can rest your pretty little heads. Frontman Adam Duritz has some good news. "We've recorded every live show we've ever played," he tells Spinner. And, a la Pearl Jam, the Crows plan to share the wealth. "We're going to begin to make the archive shows available a few times a year."Furthermore, the group plans to share future shows available almost immediately after the gig. "We're gonna start making every show available to everybody that night or the next morning after you go to your show," Duritz says. "We're going to make as much music available to you as we can, and the Internet's going to allow us to do that very inexpensively."
Duritz promises that when the group hits this road in support of its 'Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings' album this summer with Maroon 5, every show will see something special, including songs that have been out of the rotation for some time. "I want us playing almost every song in the catalogue," he says. "'Have you Seen me Lately' hasn't been in the set for a long time. We've been playing it acoustically. Both electric and acoustic ' Miami ' are in there. And 'Murder of One,' which we hadn't played."
In fact, the band has so much to draw on for this tour that they've inadvertently created a drawback: not having three hours on stage every night. "At this point, we've learned so many songs from the back catalogue and from the new record," Duritz says. "It's hard to decide what to play on a given night."
