    Two-Hit Wonders: Golden Earring

    'Radar Love' (No. 13, 1974)
    'Twilight Zone' (No. 10, 1983)

The Dutch foursome recorded 'Radar Love,' a driving song supreme, in 1973. Yet though they remained hugely successful in the land of windmills and wooden shoes, it was a full nine years before they scored their second American hit, the 1982 MTV staple 'Twilight Zone' -- the title of which aptly describes their subsequent career.

Again as with the Blue Oyster Cult, here we have a band, which was prolific in their work. Tracing it's foundation to before that of the Beatles or Rolling Stones, and with a body of work that is truly note worthy if not pop chart worthy being distilled down to being called a "Two hit wonder"... I can only shake my head.

It gets worse and worse!! This is one of the best bands of all time. They had more than two hits just on MTV, and that was when they were in a revival after loads of successful albums. I shudder to think what's on the next page - perhaps the Rolling Stones? The Beatles?
