Two-Hit Wonders: Rockers Who Have Had 30 Minutes of Fame

A list of one-hit wonders -- can you get any more cliched? Now, a two-hit wonders list -- that's something new! A few of these artists may have scraped the lower reaches of the singles chart with a third song, but heck if either you or we remember what they were.

Kim Wilde

'Kids in America' (No. 25, 1982)
'You Keep Me Hangin' On' (No. 1, 1986)

Wilde may have been just a kid when she had this New Wave Lite hit, but she wasn't one in America. The Londoner's signature song was written by two other decidedly non-American kids -- her dad and brother. Her number-two No. 1 was a power-popped-up version of American kids the Supremes' 1966 No. 1 hit.

I think Kim is just amazing and her songs are the Best, Kim Wilde stayed in Europe and became one of the most successful popstars ever. She is just gorgeous.

I see one incorrect inclusion, even if you allow for USA-centrism. Bonnie Tyler hit #34 in 1985 with "Holding Out for a Hero" - another Steinman song, I might add. She also had the highest-charting version of "It's a Heartache" (#3, 1977). Good list overall, though.

I never heard Kim sing It's a Heartache, always thought Bonnie Tyler was the only one to sing it.

Kim Wilde continues to sell records throughout most of the world; in fact, her most recent CD was released last year to critical acclaim. She is one of the few female singers in the world to chart hits in the '80s, '90s, and '00s, and even a cursory glance at Amazon.com show her numerous "greatest hits" and compilations releases. The fact that AOL doesn't have a clue about music in other countries isn't surprising. Educate yourself.

Wilde's father is Adam faith who had a hit with All Right(?) in the British Invasion of 64. He also was in the Foxes with Jodi Foster in 1980
