'Where Have All the Cowboys Gone' (No. 8, 1997)
    'I Don't Wanna Wait' (No. 11, 1997)

Despite the runaway success of 'Cowboys' and 'I Don't Wanna Wait' (aka That 'Dawson's Creek' Song), these days the question is Where Has Paula Cole Gone? But, like Dawson and Joey, Cole was never all that lucky; despite a record-breaking 56 weeks on the charts, 'I Don't Wanna Wait' never managed to crack the Top Ten.

Hate to break it to you folks, but "Me" doesn't qualify as a hit according to the standards the list seems to be using, the Billboard Hot 100.
"Me" was a Top 20 hit on Billboard's "Adult Top 40" chart, but when the song came out, it wasn't eligible to chart on the magazine's main chart since it was only an album cut, not a commercially-available single. (Billboard didn't change the eligibility rules until late in 1998, months after Cole's "Me" had run its course.)

All I remember is that she had totally long hair under her armpits when I saw her on SNL. SO...that was a little much.

I actually got to see Paula perform... barefoot and completely a wonderful surprise... at a Patti Smith outing in Ann Arbor. She is a terrific singer, and indeed... where is she now?
