    Potent Quotables: Martin's Baffling Belief

"I lay claim to being the only person in the world who still believes in Zeus."--Chris Martin

While he insists that he's "always trying to work out what 'it' is," Coldplay's frontman prefers to worship the Greek God of Thunder over any monotheistic deity.

Now that is very interesting. I believe in Artemis, so I'm not that far from him :/

    Escuse me, but....not you're not!
    And...doesn't that make you happy?

He might not be alone. I believe in Morpheus, the God of Dreams. So, he might not be alone in believing in other Gods.

He most certainly is not! I myself believe in him.. and really, wtf? He "believes in Zeus"... what about Hera, Athena, and the other great dieties??

The ONLY person in the world who still believes in Zeus? Get a grip, Chris, there are thousands of us, known variously as Pagans, Wiccans, Heathens, and by many other names. We believe in the ancient deities of Europe and/or India and Asia, Egypt and Africa, North and South America, etc. If Chris (or anyone else) thinks he's the only one who believes in one or more ancient Greek or Roman divinities, he/they need to hop online and do a little research on the various pantheons and the many, many (modern) folks who still worship them!

Oh, yeah. Gotta be proud of that lol. I myself prefer the guidelines of Aesop's Fables. As well as the teachings of Bugs Bunny.

The comment was harmless, with no malicious intent. But, as a Wiccan who works with the Greek Pantheon, maybe he should do some research next time, before laying claim to the King of the Gods.

Why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch over this? I don't think that he meant to offend anyone. Get a grip.

He may not have intended to offend anyone, but come on, when you make religious jokes someone always gets offended.
