Rock Almanac: June 4, 2008

On This Date in 1993: The U.S. Postal Service announces that the postage stamp depicting the young Elvis Presley has emerged victorious over the Las Vegas-era Elvis stamp in a contest to choose which one to issue.

The Almanac Advises for June 4: "Even in the age of e-mail and instant messaging, the practice of stamp collecting is still a popular pastime with millions and millions of adherents worldwide."
