Veteran Punk Makes Young Soul Singer Cry

If you're looking to John Lydon for a little TLC, you're truly begging for 'Mercy.' At the Mojo Awards in London earlier this week, the Sex Pistol who no longer goes by the name of Johnny Rotten reportedly refused a hug from Duffy, the "new Amy" who was celebrating her Song of the Year nod for 'Mercy.'

"You never do that to me," the wicked Rotten is said to have hissed when Duffy attempted to throw her arms around him. According to innocent bystanders, Rotten's instinctive cruelty reduced the young singer to tears.

It's not like the soulful young blond has no connection to the soulless old bleach-blond: Jeanette Lee, Lydon's former band mate in his post-Pistols group Public Image Ltd., is Duffy's manager. Given Lydon's most recent public image, as host of the Discovery Channel's creepy-crawly 'John Lydon's Megabugs,' we're wondering why anyone in their right mind would want to hug the guy.
