    On This Date in 1947: Howard Kaylan, vocalist for the turtles and Flo & Eddie, is born Howard Kaplan in New York.

    The Almanac Advises for June 22: "Turtles, unlike most other common house pets, are known for their long life span. If you choose to give one to a child as a pet, prepare then for a long partnership."
