Rock Almanac: June 25, 2008

On This Date in 1992: Billy Joel is finally awarded his diploma from Hicksville High School, which he earns 25 years after leaving school one credit short of graduation.

The Almanac Advises for June 25: "High school dropouts often consign themselves to a life of demeaning and degrading work. They often leave school lacking the skills needed to contribute to society in a meaningful way."
