Spoon Bender Homeless Because of Elvis

Michael Jackson was the best man when psychic spoon-bender Uri Geller reaffirmed his wedding vows in 2001. Geller, who claims to be a relative of Sigmund Freud, has a weird history of celebrity connections: Most recently, he and two partners tried to buy the Memphis ranch house Elvis Presley bought for himself, his parents and his grandmother in 1956. Geller, best known for his alleged ability to bend spoons using only mind power, won the bidding with a $905,000 offer when the house went up for auction on eBay in 2006. Now, however, both sides claim the other has reneged on the deal.
Owners Cindy Hazen and Mike Freeman say Geller tried to change the terms of the agreement; Geller says the owners backed out in order to sell the house for more money -- $1 million -- to Nashville record producer Mike Curb. The house will now serve as part of the Mike Curb Music Institute of Rhodes College.
Did Elvis have a premonition? We wouldn't put it past him. "I've got to move around," sang the King, who moved from the ranch house to the more secluded Graceland after neighbors complained about fan traffic.
The song: 'Beyond the Bend.'
