Jay-Z Covers Oasis at Glastonbury

Jay-Z's got 99 problems but a Gallagher brother ain't one. During Jigga's Saturday headlining Glastonbury performance, the rapper took a tongue-in-cheek jab at Oasis' Noel Gallagher -- who ruffled feathers months earlier by saying it was "wrong" to have a hip-hop act headline the rock festival -- by covering Oasis' 'Wonderwall.' Meanwhile, we're waiting for Noel's 'Big Pimpin' rebuttal.

Heh. I can see it now. Jay-Z is winning me over with that rebuttal on NOel Gallagher.

Dude wasn't even singing! Didn't know the words! And man, off-key! It's horrible to hear him "sing" that, and if you'd isolate that vocal it would make anyone cringe. Rap is sucky lately ... except for Kanye and Lil Wayne ... Notice, also, how the audience was loving the song and knew all the words. Then again, I'm sure Noel couldn't rap, either. Stay in your yard, Jay, stay in your yard!

See, U dnt go against a man who's smart enuff 2 somehow make it out the Marcy projects out of Brooklyn, NYC & become a multi millionaire, own part of a sports franchise, marry Beyonce' & become a global icon in your line of work. & by the way, may b they should check the charts; last I checked, Hip-Hop is the most selling & most played genre not only in the country but in the world.

@ Big James Ice, He's not smart enough to make it out of the hood all he had to do was make up a couple of quick raps like all the rest of them. And hip-hops only topping the charts now because of gay posers like you who think it's cool to act black.

i actually can't believe greg said any of that...... stfu. OBVIOUSLY if that was true every rapper would be successful and have a career like jay-z. do they? NO. goodbye now.

you're really stupid.

See, steveland, Lil Wayne contributes to the sucky hiphop you're talking about, he is not the best rapper alive. One of the two is up on that video. The other is Nas. and Jay's a genius, i hope he keeps expanding boundaries.

gallagher is right...why is a rapper (and rap blows) headlining a rock festival so jay-z is just plain stupid cause wonderwall is a good song..unlike pretty much all of his

loved it! anyone who's paid attention to music in the past 20yrs KNOWS that rock and rap have been rolling together for a VERY long time. maybe it's just an american thing, tho. we figured out that EVERYONE makes money when we play together. to say that one group doesn't belong, knowing good and damn well that their fans listen to other genres, is a BAD move. seriously. you want to LOSE fans. tell them that someone doesn't belong.

LOL this is proof that most rappers have no talent. They know how to talk really fast, but if they try to sing a song where you actually have to SING they SUCK. Off-key, and horrible.

wow that statement shows how ignorant you are, rapping is more than talking fast,if you think rappers are talking fast then brain is just slow. Rappers use metaphors, similes and so many other poetic devices. O, rapping isn't singing so their not going to be good at signing.... Furthermore, I think the comments he made was partially true.. Rap shouldn't lead a rock show or vise versa but look who was the rapper Jay-Z a legend in Rap and in the world so its not like they got some crappy rapper then got a legend...

Panda, music isn't just singing. Jay-Z does not label himself as a singer, so he's not going to start sounding like Parvatti. Rapping is a talent. Can you put together a freestyle with no prior knowledge to the topic or beat, and still make it coherent? Rap and rock go side by side. Rap is as much a music genre as any other.

it was obvious that jay-z wasn't trying....and I personally believe the reason why he did this was because noel said a rapper shouldnt be headlining a rock festival so he covered his song....so a rock song could be played first and Noel could be happy about....and im sure in no way was jay-z taking the song seriously as far as peforming goes

He is being sarcastic.... He wasn't trying to make this his new single... he was just poking fun at Noel... And coming from a guy like Jay-Z its cool to see his silly side because that man is usually about business... So everyone should just take it like a joke.... And Lil Wayne is not a great rapper with his baby babble... He is although a great entertainer.... Listen to the lyrics people

some people are taking this to the extreme. if people knew what was said about jay-z before the concert, they would know that he is making fun of it all. personally, i'm glad to see that he is not making small stuff get to him. besides he did a great job at the concert. us Brooklyn, people love him!
