Ringo Starr Calls for Universal Peace

Former Beatle Ringo Starr has one wish for his 68th birthday: "Just more Peace and Love."To that end, Ringo is looking to launch a global movement on relatively short notice by asking everyone at Noon local time July 7 to make the peace sign.
In addition, he'd like us to go one step further with his universal message. "Wherever you are," Starr said Tuesday in a statement, "office, home, bus, tube, sitting, standing, walking, alone or with others, doesn't matter -- at Noon on July 7, make the peace sign and think, say, shout, sing 'Peace and Love'."
Planned gathering spots include Abbey Road Studios in London, Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik, Capitol Records in Hollywood, and Strawberry Fields in NYC's Central Park. As for the notorious kitman, Ringo will be at Chicago's Buckingham Fountain on Monday, where he'll be joined by others at 12pm central time for a group expression of Peace and Love. Monday night, Ringo will appear on CNN's 'Larry King Live' to talk about his birthday wish.

I went to Buckingham Fountain with my children and Ringo was a "no show." They came home very disappointed. The several dozen of us who were there did show the Peace Sign.

Being for peace isn't being against "the" war, it's about moving away from all war, violence, hatred, and conflict. As for those who flash the peace sign when photographed .... ramacdowell, how do you know why they do it? Perhaps they, too, want peace and love in their lifetime.

He's got a good idea but today when ever takes a picture of someelse be they famous or not the person gives the peace sign.They aren't doing it because they're against the war they're just giving it to be hip or cool.
