Music Festival Spawns Spike in Pregnancies

Organizers of Grand Junction, Colorado's Country Jam might want to rethink the name of the festival, after a local health official reported that the annual outing contributes to a substantial spike in unplanned pregnancies.

The agency Nurse-Family Partnership typically sees 25-30 pregnant women a month, said supervisor Wanda Scott, but the number shoots to about 80 in the weeks after the festival.

Tim McGraw and Sugarland headlined this year's Country Jam in late June. The four-day event advertises a designated quiet camping area: "After the shows are over, no more playing outside, it is time for bed." Standard camping sites, on the other hand, allow for "small gatherings with friends" and "a nightcap or two after the shows are over." Quiet or noisy, they're clearly shacking up.

If Country Jam is good for dozens of incubating Diamond Rio fans, anybody want to put a number on prospective little Bonnaroos?

    1. I highly think a concert has anything to do with pregnancies, perhaps no birth control maybe?
    2. Who cares who can spell and who uses proper grammar? We all have our weaknesses.
    3. We are made from the same God and he made us all equal. Why are we so judgemental? Only a perfect person can judge another, there is no such thing as a perfect person.
    4. If we showed love as much as we show hate, we wouldn't have so many enemies.
    5. Ignorance is far worse than anything. Check yourself.

    Dear Society,

Please stop blaming music for your own mistakes.

    Thanks,

Being a native of Colorado, I am here to say a few things. First of all, if you want to find rednecks, go to Texas. Colorado does not have any more rednecks than any where else in this country and just because it is a country music festival doesn't mean that all the people who are there are rednecks. Also, Colorado isn't SOUTH! Look on a map or come here and listen to the way we talk. No accents here. So take your comments and think them out before you make an idiot of yourself on here.

Yes, I can see why you are upset. Public education is a liberal program, and I can see that it has failed you.

WTF? How does a concert cause a pregnancy spike? That's freaking stupid.

Oh please, it's not about inbreeding. Don't be racist, kiddies, just because they're Southerners does NOT mean it's inbreeding. Utter stupidity, but not incest.

But man, you know it's pretty wild if a concert spikes the birthrate...

Maybe you should actualy come down to Grand Junction and go out to Country Jam... Then you will see that they are not inbread just to drunk to have any common sence.

In that the proper spelling is "inbred" and the proper spellings are "too drunk to have any common sense" I think we can safely assume your parents were related before they conceived you.
