The thing is I can't stop a person, black or white, from saying it, and it would be nice if people didn't say the word. But, to me, the most important thing about me and that word is if I don't say it. IF people stopped saying it for good, then perhaps some will follow suit. Otherwise, the truth is we're set back some odd years, no matter what.

I don't like that word and I don't use it. When someone around me uses it, I quietly tell them that it is a hurting word and not acceptable anymore. I am not a real religious person, but I do believe that we are all Gods children. And everyone deserves to be respected!

If black people want equality, the first thing they could do is either
(1) renounce use of the word totally by everyone
(2) let everyone use it totally.

how often are those words used? i use the word "white bread" sometimes to describe myself. "white bread" doesn't mean ignorant or stupid. besides. everyone loves white bread. (except me). and honestly, i've lived in so many racially tense areas, and have NEVER heard the word "birdshit".

wow for all of you who think its no big deal and that anyone could call you a name and you wouldn't get angry- know this:
its very degrading considering that's what slave owners used to call their black slaves
most of you are probably caucasian since you are so insensitive and rude and don't know the severity of the N-word
im a caucasian but i still have respect for others of all races and ethnicities and find it indescribably rude and immature to be so ignorant about a word that is so disgracing to all african americans
