Pete Doherty Performs at Fan's Wake; Faces Arrest Warrant

Pete Doherty was so saddened by the recent tragic death of a 16-year-old English fan that the Babyshambles frontman not only went to the funeral this past Monday but also performed at the wake for his fallen fan's friends. Doherty had met and befriended South Tyneside native Daniel Squires – who died of bone cancer on July 4 – backstage at one of his shows.

"It was a pleasure to have known Daniel; he was such a brave and inspirational person," Doherty told the crowd during the wake, held at the Gold Lion Inn in nearby Jarrow. Sadly, Squires' funeral fell on what would have been his 17th birthday, which Doherty honored by singing 'Happy Birthday to You.'

Despite the heartfelt move, Doherty continues to suffer from bad luck. An arrest warrant was issued for him today after he failed to attend magistrates court for a second time. He is accused of breaking a photographer's camera, causing £200 worth of damage. Doherty – who is currently on tour -- was jailed earlier this year for breaching the terms of his probation and spent 14 weeks in prison.
