'On Board,' by Friendly Fires
The trio -- hailing from St. Albans, just outside London -- features Ed Macfarlane on vocals and keyboards, Edd Gibson on guitar, and Jack Savidge on drums. When the three friends began writing music in their 20s, they had composed 'On Board' "before playing our first gig as Friendly Fires," Savidge told Spinner. "We were just looking for an exciting beginning to the set, which would gradually build and build and explode."
Recently signed to the influential indie record company XL Recordings, Friendly Fires have become labelmates with the likes of M.I.A., Davendra Banhart, Radiohead and the White Stripes. The threesome are hitting the road this summer, performing in London, L.A., New York and more.
Think it's fair to say that between the touring and the Wii Fit (if they get one -- so far, Nintendo hasn't hooked them up), these guys will be in killer shape by the end of the summer.
