    'Who Let the Dogs Out?'
    --Baha Men (2000)

When the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets both claimed to be the first to adopt this song, ESPN commented that "this is a little like scientists arguing over who discovered a deadly virus." It's the quintessential example of the type of song your parents embarrass you by knowing all the words to.

If by "worst" you mean "best of their time", than this countdown would be accurate. Every one of these songs reached top ten status on the music charts. According to the American song listener, these songs are gold. I wouldn't poke fun at these artists but I would question the musical taste of the millions of Americans who made these songs popular in the first place.

It's no secret that gimmick-based songs become huge hits.

Damn i couldnt agree with you more.
MOST OF THE SONGS ON THIS LIST MADE TOP 10.

For instance; how dare you put 'My hear will go on' on this list; yeah it was overplayed but its a damn good song, and no where near deserves to be on this list ..

Im wondering .. WHY THE HELL ISNT MILEY CYRUS ON HERE .. BUT CELINE DION IS?

The writer of this list needs to take it back a few steps and read all of the songs he just listed ..

Great list top to bottom..all these songs and artists are UNLISTENABLE..anyone defending ANY of these songs or artists probably watches American Idol..I truly dont "get" anything that is popular these days..makes sense that George Bush is out Prez..whatta fuckd up country!

who the hell wrote this list, these were all best sellers!! i dont care what they say, these artist all made millions on theie "bad songs"

    Ashleyat 8-12-2008

This is absolutely rediculous. None of these songs are "The worst of all time". They were, for the most part, huge hits at the time. This writer needs to broaden his horizons because there are MUCH worse songs than these/.

The fact that a song reaches the top of the charts doesn't necesarily mean that they are good songs. still, there are a few in the countdown that aren't bad, they've only been overplayed.....

Title of the article should have been "cheesiest songs". All are popular songs, just each somewhat cheesy, but that doesn't make them "bad" songs by any stretch, especially considering the popularity. I, including probably everyone reading this, know the words to every song on this list (except for the one from the 70's).
