It was overplayed but it is still a catchy tune.
I don't care for rap but this tune somehow catches you up in it.
I don;t think it deserves to be in the top 20.
There's a lot worse out there.

This song was theme for setting off the 90s...
The Clinton Years; Rap growing up; Brat Packers; etc.
While it's not the song that was bad, it was MC himself. Not that he did a bad job with his only hit either; rather he became an overnight sensation and with all the near-decadence of his predecessor Rick "Super Freak" James, lost virtually everything just as fast.
But all was not lost, as far as others learning from his mistakes were concerned. Like Sean 'Puff Daddy, Diddy, P. Diddy and Puffy' Colms becoming a mogul and getting to tap J.Lo's butt before Markie did...
Sure, MC Hammer is the poster child and punchlines to many a joke about what not to do when you get a big break --
Too, instead of most overplayed songs, there should perhaps be a list of worst business moves made by musicians, bands, singers etc. et al --
No doubt MC Hammer would rank #1!

There are sooooooo many more so called "rap songs" that deserve to be on this list than this song, this was a great song, catchy and full of life!!

I'm a 54 yr old f**t and even I know this is one of
the RAP songs that will stand the test of time.
It may end-up on children's best "Dance to the 90's"
Most will get tired of listening to hate-centric lyrics
and "HO"-erotic details with no subtle-ties. Time will
tell.
Every dad will explain "You Can't Touch This" to every
new suitor coming to pick up his daughter.
While we all "Like Big Butts" during scrabble,
we won't hear "Me so Horny" at our daughters wedding.

I do like some of the rap out there, but i do agree that most of the "crank-dat-hoe" stuff is unappealing to me, a 17-year-old girl. It can be discusting and sexist, even insulting. SOME Lil Wayne and Usher and Kanye is great, but they should know where to draw the line.

You should have named this list, "20 Most Overplayed Songs," not "20 Worst Songs." Essentially what you are doing is saying you hate all songs that were popular at a particular point in time. This song is classic - a GREAT song - but overplayed.
Get a clue.
