LOL The song may sound a little dated now, but it's certainly not a top 20 worst song ever (where'e Madonna's Erotica?)! The voters must not understand songs with lyrics such as this! As I said the arraingement is a little dated, but the meaning of the lyric was and still is essential for every person to have strength and courage. Gloria Gaynor said it a little differntly..."I Will Survive"

I remember living next door to a radical women's libber. She also happened to be the biggest slut on the block....a contradiction I never did figure out! I guess she just liked being a woman who moaned.... more than being a woman who roared!

I love and admire Helen Reddy and her songs, including this one. She is a kind and gracious songstress. She does not resort to a cheap sex image (like Madonna and Britney). Instead, she uses assertiveness and compassion in her music. Her Woman anthem will be remembered long after that "Material Girl" nonsense is forgotten.
