On This Date in 1985: 'Shout,' by Tears for Fears, makes its way the No. 1 position on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

The Almanac Advises for August 3: "The way to get results is to speak emphatically and clearly. Do not be afraid to raise your voice to get your point across."
