On This Date in 1958: 'Poor Little Fool,' by Ricky Nelson, becomes the first No. 1 song on Billboard's new Hot 100 Singles chart.The Almanac Advises for August 4: "Without proper parental and school guidance, the youth of today can and will make foolish decisions. However, authority figures should keep in mind that they were young and foolish themselves once."
