On This Date in 1974: J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf weds Hollywood actress Faye Dunaway in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Almanac Advises for August 7: "The French fairytale 'La Belle et la Bête' (in English, 'Beauty and the Beast,' ) is a romantic fable that holds resonance with people worldwide both young and old. This story of a love affair between a beautiful woman and a wildman has been told numerous times and in many languages onstage, onscreen and on television."
