On This Date in 1975: 'Jive Talkin',' by the Bee Gees, reaches the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.

The Almanac Advises for August 9: "Pathological liars often feel a need to embellish their stories or make up ones out of whole cloth, often to impress other people. It is thought that pathological liars often come to believe their lies."
