On This Date in 1938: Kenny Rogers is born Kenneth Ray Rogers in Houston.The Almanac Advises for August 21: "An estimated 2 million Americans suffering from gambling addiction, which is a compulsion to wager despite negative consequences. What constitutes pathological gambling is an inability to limit either the amount of time or of money used for gambling purposes"
