Wait, you mean Madonna isn't throwing her weight behind the Republicans during the upcoming presidential election? And she's making outrageous statements like running Republican presidential nominee John McCain's picture alongside images of destruction, global warming and Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler in a video interlude during her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour? That sounds nothing like the Madonna we know. Oh, wait. Yes, yes it does.
Well, McCain isn't gonna take it. The U.S. Senator hit back at Madonna Sunday in response to the pop diva's visual swipe at the candidate during the opening night of her international 'Sticky and Sweet' tour, this past Saturday in Cardiff, Wales.
"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time," McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement reported by Fox News. "It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."
Madonna's Obama "support" came in the form of another video montage, where the Democratic nominee was featured in the same sequence as slain Beatle John Lennon, climate activist Al Gore and Mahatma Gandhi.

If McCain could have sucked it up and not whined about this, 99% of Americans wouldn't even realize it happened. Instead, he feels the need to fire back at someone for expressing their views of him and now we all have the information to ponder on whether her views should influence our vote or not. Had he just let it slide, it wouldn't have had any impact at all. I swear...politicians never learn.

Its not just someone "expressing their views"
This is a major icon, using her influence to compare someone to Hitler!, and then using the same influence to compare HER choice with Ghandi!
Its not something simple, and if he doesn't respond, then the attacks continue.
I was undecided at this point, however the HUGE amout of smear that the Hollywood machine is throwing behind Barack makes me wonder why they want him in office. I'm neither left or right, but the Hollywood people scare the hell out of me....
Thanks Material Girl for pushing me towards McCain
kidfears05at 8-25-2008
Oh please.Madonna & the rest of Hollywood need to stick to their professions & remember that her show is just that...a show of her music...not a political rally that the audience may not agree with
VALENTINE :}at 10-12-2008
I agree...I love Madonna's music and her past concerts have been worth the $350.00+ per seat show...but this time I won't give up my hard earned $$$ to hear her go on and on about politics that we are bumbarded by everyday in the media....Sorry Madge.

All of these so-called "celebrities" and "rock/rap/hip-hop entertainers" can endorse whomever they please. It certainly hasn't helped their candidates in the past, has it? Gore, Kerry, etc., etc. Keep supporting Obama, idiots...you're only helping McCain! And, by the way...thank you for that! P.S. Madonna's nothing more than a vulgar skank, and always has been! Who gives a crap what she thinks or wants?? I can't believe there are still morons out there willing to pay big money to see the old hag.

You go Kim!!!!

I am voting for John McCain not just to piss off Madonna. The sad thing is, this proably isn't even a poltical statement for Madonna, she just thought it was the easiest why to get her crappy tour promoted.
hi christyat 8-25-2008
Who even knew Madonna cared about America? Doesn't she use a British accent now? You are a brilliany attention-getter, Madonna. Unfortunately no U.S. citizen with a brain really cares who you support. Stick to entertaining my dear
sakuragarden12at 8-26-2008
Oh, shut up, all of you. You act like you're suprised - have you seen her video for Like A Prayer? As if Madge has time to worry about what twinky little conservatives think.
Kathyat 8-30-2008
What a pathetic sorry witch Madonna is!
She is just an UGLY OLD LOOKING HAG!
I'm so voting for McCain...her tactics just
sealed the deal for me...!
If you want drama...vote "Obama"
If you want a brain...vote "McCain"
Chrisat 9-01-2008
Don't you mean-
If you want the same, vote "McCain"?
and I mean the same as in the same crap the Bush administration has been putting us through for years.
sweetyangel1432at 8-30-2008
Madonna is an ugly hag who gets by in show business because of her body.
She doesn't have any real talent.
And I agree with the other people. This was the only way to be sure her tour - and she - get more promotion.

All you 18-30 somethings are idiots and nieve... Barack Obama is a phony. I love how he has fooled your young foolish.... and I might add the word incompetent minds into believing he is the agent of change... The only difference between Barack Obama and any other Presidental candidate is that he is black... This is a proud day in America to have the first viable black American candidate.... but it is not a reason to just go and vote for him. PLEASE... BEFORE YOU VOTE OBAMA REALLY LOOK AT WHAT HE HAS DONE IN HIS SHORT CAREER AND THE POLICIES HE WOULD IMPLEMENT BEFORE YOU JUST RUN OUT AND CAST YOUR VOTE BLINDLY... You might be surprised that you agree with McCains policies over Obama's... And soon to be graduates think about how much of your brand new paycheck you are going to lose under an Obama administration??????

Madonna, who? Oh, that oldie fake blonde! Who cares what she says. Nobody who is educated and knows the concerns of our country will ever listen to this crap! I already made up my mind to vote John McCain!
Heidiat 9-04-2008
John Mc Cain surely does NOT deserve to be put on a screen with Adolf Hitler. Maybe Madonna needs to watch Sesame Street .... "one of these things are not like the other." Does she even understand who Adolf Hitler was? OH WELL .... hopefully, people will get educated and pick the best canidate for what they feel America needs.

ok...ok... has it ever occured to you that McCain may have been around and experienced alot of terrible thing....however Obama may have the courage to run for president because he is so intelligent that he would make better decisions for our country, consider that age really makes less difference. there are plenty of younger and older politicians that make horrrible errors in judgements and those who make excellent decisions. Is there a chance that we HUMANS could stop the liberal/conservative/democrat/republican/right/left/red/blue
savannahbashawat 9-05-2008
and stop being elephants and donkeys and just be US CITIZENS, lokk at all the true facts about all candidates and make an intelligent decision based on that. well maybe someday ,apparently not in 2008. I hope "GET THE FACTS" OR "FACTS ACT " OR SOME OTHER MONIKER WILL BE OUR FUTURE.

When you compare John McCain to Hitler you show an astounding amount of ignorance and contempt for truth. McCain is a war hero who was tortured in a Vietnamese POW camp for his country. Adolf Hitler was a radical racist who ordered the industrialized slaughter of Jews, gypsies, the elderly, the mentally challenged, homosexuals, and those who openly opposed his movement, just to name a few. When you compare the two, you candy-coat the horrific atrocities committed by Hitler and the 3rd Reich. I find that incredibly offensive. May another Adolf Hitler NEVER walk the earth again.
Hello Frankat 9-17-2008
Just read McCains Obituary ( Medical Records)To think, He's bad but Palin as President? Scary thought, Very Scary!
ellieat 9-18-2008
McCain's minions take any opportunity to blame Obama for anything, anytime anybody expresses their views. I really doubt Madonna's material is "for" the support of the Obama campaign. It's simply her own personal view of the world as it is today. She is entitled to have that view right?
