On This Date in 1976: A judge rules that George Harrison plagairized the melody of his 1970 song 'My Sweet Lord' from the Chiffons' 1963 hit 'He's So Fine.'The Almanac Advises for August 31: "In high schools and colleges everywhere, students are passing off the work of others as their own. In the Internet age, it's easier than ever to plagiarize. On the other hand, the Internet also makes it easier to catch copycats."

I remember very well hearing on the radio that George was being sued.I was eight and thought it was ridiculous. So many groups today sound like other people they're plaigerizing themselves .Poor
sweet george, I think he should have that judgement expunged from his record."My Sweet Lord" is my fave
Christmas song, because we listened to it endlessly one Christmas long ago.Miss George. love, bonbon
I remember it well. I remember thinking the judgement was a big load of sweltering dung, and I hear so many songs and artists that sound like other people today that I think that it should be
expunged from his record.I was only eight years old
but we listened to "MY SWEET LORD" over and over at Christmas time. It is still, to me, my fave Christmas tune.Miss him. bonbon
