Britney Spears Opens the VMAs, Wins Video of the Year

One year after Britney Spears' train-wreck VMA performance, the reportedly reformed singer's return to the VMA stage was twofold: 1) to open the awards and 2) sweet vindication, which she got ... kinda.

Her opening appearance was short. And, well, she didn't stumble in her heels. Dressed in a skin-tight silver spangled dress, Spears kicked off the big event with a pre-taped comedic intro with 'Superbad' actor Jonah Hill, with hopes for another surprise or two. Rumors of a performance by Spears swirled, but to no avail. She exited the stage almost as quickly as she took to it, rushing through the monologue with the mic covering much of her face. "Thank you for all the love," she said. "I'm here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the VMAs." It wouldn't be the last of her.

Russell Brand took over official hosting duties with Jamie Foxx taking the stage shortly thereafter to announce the nominees for Best Female Video, which Spears was up for, alongside Rihanna, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey and Jordin Sparks. After 16 career nominations, a dance with a boa constrictor, a lip-lock with Madonna and a complete meltdown later, Spears finally won her first with 'Piece of Me,' a second for Best Pop Video and, most importantly and interestingly, Video of the Year. "I first want to thank God for blessing me like this," she said. "I want to thank my family and two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday. And my fans -- this is for you."

They've been waitin' a long time, Britney.

Payday Loansat 12-06-2008

I have been following Britney Spears since I was a teenager, and I know that comebacks are possible; payday loans helped me make a financial comeback! I know that Britney Spears will never need financial help. She makes money while she sleeps. However, I know Britney has needed a great deal of professional help to make her comeback a reality. Now 27 years old, Britney has been a figure in the pop music scene for ten years. I still remember her first music video for “Baby One More Time” where she was dressed as a schoolgirl with pigtails and knee-high socks. It’s no wonder all the guys loved her. From there her career took off until she hit rock bottom a few years ago. She had a messy divorce and custody battle with Kevin Federline, and she faced a bunch of charges for driving offenses. I love Britney, but when she shaved her head, I definitely turned a blind eye. I couldn’t watch my favorite pop princess do that to herself. Oh, the horror! Anyway, like I said, Britney and others have put a lot of hard work into repairing her image and her career. Britney just announced that she is going on a world tour starting in March 2009. I am definitely buying tickets when she comes my way. As I was saying, a comeback is a tough thing for a celebrity, but it’s totally possible. A financial comeback is also a difficult feat, but again, totally possible. Britney made a lot of mistakes, and I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my financial past. I got my finances back on track by using payday loans. If the down-and-out Britney Spears can make a comeback, you can definitely make a financial comeback with a little help from payday loans.
