VP Hopeful Palin Names Son After Van Halen

Evidently vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is, or was, such a big Van Halen fan that she gave one of her sons the middle name Van. Van ... Palin.

That disclosure leads to a precarious question for the governor: Roth or Hagar? If the snapshots from the candidate's big hair days are any indication, we're guessing she was particularly fond of Diamond Dave. But VH fans know it's a serious wedge issue. She'd probably dance around the question, careful not to alienate the small but vocal Gary Cherone constituency.

They say Palin has no foreign policy experience, but she was clearly listening to 'Panama' years before the whole Noriega thing. Still, the McCain campaign's recent adoption of Van Halen's 'Right Now' has reportedly ticked off the band. Unlike John McCain's affection for ABBA, the VP hopeful's guilty pleasures haven't been helping her cause: Sarah Barracuda, as she was known back when she played basketball, has already been warned by the band Heart to stop using their song 'Barracuda.'

    Palin is paling and rightfully so, she is as currant as last weeks stock market. Never been out of the country, and thinks she can woo those Europeans, Arabs,
    Asians, they will chew her up like a ripe fig, and eliminate her the minute they digest her "views" on world politics. She is truly a non person to me. I would suggest everyone in America ignore her. her.....
