On This Date in 1990: 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,' starring Will Smith of hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, makes its television debut.

The Almanac Advises for September 10: "Being an exclusive community in Los Angeles and not an incorporated city, there is no municipal head of Bel Air. However, there is a director of the Bel Air Association, whose job it is to maintain residential standards."
