Rock Almanac: September 11, 2008

On This Date in 1971: 'Go Away Little Girl,' by Donny Osmond, hits the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. The original version of the song, by Steve Lawrence, topped the singles chart in 1963.

The Almanac Advises for September 11: "In many jurisdictions, laws have been passed to ensure that a convicted sex offender keep clear of minors. For example, a known pedophile can be prohibited to live in proximity to a school or playground."
