Deerhoof Shine a Light on Apollo Sunshine

We love it when bands are fans of bands we're fans of, too. And when those bands are fans of the bands that are fans. Anyway, on that note, Apollo Sunshine released their new album, 'Shall Noise Upon,' to critical acclaim last week, including praise from Deerhoof's John Dieterich, who had this to say about it: "When I hear this music, all I can say is that I feel like it's real, like it's a person speaking to me. It's just so obviously loved and cared for that it jumps out of the speakers and grabs you by the throat. I feel so happy that it exists!"

In turn, Apollo Sunshine's Jeremy Black is pretty damn happy that Dieterich is happy. In fact, Black emailed Spinner just to return the compliment: "There aren't many bands these days that are really pushing the boundaries as wide open as Deerhoof. Not to sound like a dork, but it means a lot to my bandmates and me that they appreciate what we do as well."

What can we say? It feels good to be loved.
