    On This Date in 1977: T. Rex frontman Marc Bolan dies in an automobile accident in London two weeks before the glam rocker's 30th birthday.

    The Almanac Advises for September 16: "It is currently believed by many paleontologists that Tyrannosaurus rex, one of the largest and most ferocious land animals ever, was covered in bright feathers. These prehistoric scientists have also calculated the lifespan of these majestic creatures to be just short of 30 years."
