On This Date in 1960: 'The Twist,' by Chubby Checker, tops the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, an accomplishment it repeats two years later.

The Almanac Advises for September 19: "Chiropractors are licensed to treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system, mainly by manipulating the spine. By twisting and contorting the spinal column, chiropractic care givers claim to be able to cure all manner of disease."
