Mike Skinner was 'pranging out' about celebrity on his last album, 2006's 'The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living,' and now seems at peace on his latest, 'Everything Is Borrowed.' The artist, better known as the Streets, announced his intention to ditch the name after his next album and venture into new territory. "The Streets have always been new and exciting to me," Skinner tells Spinner. "Every new album has felt like I'm going somewhere where I haven't been before and I just want to keep doing that. I'd like to make a film -- that's the first thing I'd like to do. Something that is quite conceptual ... I don't think it will be the type of film that people expect I'm gonna make."
As for specifics on the film, Skinner was a little cryptic, but asserted he will be pushing things forward as usual. "I'd quite like to do an almost dystopian kind of thing, that has a kind of metaphor beyond the story that's quite sharp." Sci-fi geeks and backpack rappers should take note.
