Known for hilariously disaffected roles in 'Almost Famous' and 'The Good Girl,' the doe-eyed Deschanel switched gears this year to focus on music. After years dabbling in cabaret, she hooked up with folk singer M. Ward, grabbed a banjo and formed pretty-pop outfit She and Him. Then, with the release of the duo's debut, 'Volume One,' Deschanel did the unthinkable: She pulled it off.
