Elvis Costello will be appearing on Fall Out Boy's upcoming album, 'Folie a Deux'. While it's unknown if many of FOB's pubescent fans have even heard 'Oliver's Army' or 'Watching the Detectives,' the Pete Wentz-steered, Patrick Stump-fronted quartet is stoked about the cameo just the same, calling "it a once in a lifetime experience.""I guess its time to let the cat out of the bag," the band tells Absolutepunk. "We didn't want to talk about this before we actually heard it. We've announced a couple of guests on the record but 'I Wish You Luck With a Capital F' is just one of the thousands of genius ideas thought up by Elvis Costello and he's gonna be singing on 'Folie a Deux.' This isn't a typical appearance as he's alongside the guys in a couple of the Decaydance [Wentz's label] bands on the song. Either way this has been an amazing experience for Fall Out Boy as he is one of our heroes, especially so for Patrick. We can't wait for you to have the chance to hear it."
In other news, the star-studded album -- which also boasts cameos by Debbie Harry and Lil Wayne -- has been bumped from its November 4 release date to December 16. "Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on Election Day, but this is not the election to be cute," the band posts on their official site. "We felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick."
