Dear and the Headlights just dropped their duece, er, sophomore album, humorously entitled 'Drunk Like Bible Times,' and are about to embark on a tour behind it. Of course, any rock band (indie or otherwise) going on the road in support of something called 'Drunk Like Bible Times' naturally conjures up images of bottles being smashed against concrete dressing room walls, drunken hotel mayhem and general shwillyness. But frontman Ian Metzger tells Spinner that Dear and the Headlights aren't actually that out of control."I personally don't drink much on the road due to the fact that it's beer most of the time backstage," he says. "Acid reflux makes singing a bit harder! I do enjoy a shot of whiskey or vodka though, if we have it."
Well, this tour they should have it. Metzger relays that the band's rider now includes Kettle One, Jameson, Propel, cranberry juice and "some sort of import beer ... but usually it ends up being some week domestic. I do believe the majority of us have drinks before and after the show, but it's not Pantera style!"
Those wishing to raise a glass with the band can do so this through November 28th, coming soon to a bar near you.
