On This Date in 1963: 'Be My Baby,' by the Ronettes, reaches its peak position of No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Blocking the song from the top spot is 'Sugar Shack,' by Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs.The Almanac Advises for October 19: "One of the tenets of safe driving is to avoid making risky maneuvers when trying to pass a vehicle ahead of you that is blocking the road. It's wiser to keep at a close but safe distance and wait for the road hog to turn off the highway."
