Janis Winehouse on Amy Winehouse

Um, all of you people who are like "Mamma needa step in and do this or that"... you do realize that Amy Winehouse is a legal adult, correct?
I'm not sure how the court systems in England work, but I'm not sure if Amy's parents can "Britney Spears" this one.
I'm sure it's hard for anyone to watch their child's self-destructive behavior, but it's wrong to assume that to this point her parents haven't tried to do anything.
I mean seriously - I doubt she's sat idly by and been like "Oh well, looks like we fxxxed up!"
I'm sure her mother is just being honest with how she sees her daughter at this point - that doesn't really mean she's throwing in the towel.
I mean... is her mother WRONG?

My brother in law is an extreme, long time addict of many drugs. We have all done so much, including his mom, to help him. I mean we have done everything you can imagine. Unfortunately he is an adult and is going to do what ever he wants. I know his mom cries all the time about it because she feels helpless. You can't make someone quit, they have to want it.

Hi Amy's mom..

I know you want to give up cause Amy is probley hard to deal with but my uncle had to carry my cousin into rehab and he was there with her everyday. They were going to take away her son and everything. Just dont give up on her please dont. Just pray I know right now the only people that can understand what your going through are the people that went through it. Maybe you can talk to some of the parents there at the rehab. Its always good to have people around you that know what your going through. Just fight against everything thats holding you from helping Amy. I pray for you and your family. And dont listen to anybody who is putting your daughter down there day will come when God will judge them. You daughter is going through something that only she can really understand. It must feel like she hates the world and the only way out is the drugs cause when she is on them she is not Amy. Just keep on loving on her no matter what even if it feels like there is no hope. I believe in Jesus's name that Amy and the family will get through this. I think that if you can keep her away from the computer, newspapers and tv. I know that if you just get on your knees and pray to God he will help you.. I'll pray for you to. Keep strong and what ever happens dont give up. Dont be negative either dont say she is going to die cause you are looking for that to happen. Just stay positive and strong and keep telling yourself that you and amy are going to get through this.. love you guys God Bless

another idea, why dont you all stop playing into her publicity, and her retail sales.. than she'd have no money for the drugs.

wow you guys are talking like the lady's sitting on her ass twiddling her thumbs. the fact that she's saying this proves she's out of her wits. when a family member is battling a drug addiction, sometimes there's nothing you can do after everything you've already done. a lot of times it's a losing battle...and only the person who needs help can do the helping.
