On This Date in 1966: '96 Tears,' by ? and the Mysterians, takes over the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.The Almanac Advises for October 29: "The idea that a man shouldn't show his emotions has fallen out of favor in recent years. These days, the sight of a man crying wouldn't automatically cast aspersions on his masculinity."
