Travis 'Sing' Glen Campbell's Praises

When Travis frontman/guitarist Fran Healy first watched country legend Glen Campbell perform the band's hit 'Sing,' it was surreal to say the least.

"Somebody told me about [Campbell's cover], so I put it on YouTube and saw him on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' performing our song," Healy tells Spinner about the tune, which appears on Campbell's covers album, 'Meet Glen Campbell.' "It's weird. It's like when you see your friends hanging out with other people and they can't see you, and they're acting slightly differently. It's like, 'That's not my friends. That's not my song.' He does a nice cover of it."

The Scottish pop musician, whose band releases the album 'Ode to J. Smith' on Nov. 4, explained he had the opportunity to meet Campbell about a month ago, and says it was awkward at best.

"We met at an awards ceremony," Healy recalls. "I was asked to present him with a lifetime legend award. It was nice so I said, 'Hey, man. Nice to meet you. Thanks for covering our song.' I was convinced he didn't know who the f---I was."
