Aerosmith's Joe Perry Gets Behind McCain

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has come out in support of Republican presidential candidate John McCain. It marks the first time the guitarist has publicly endorsed a presidential candidate.

"We pretty much stay out of it," Perry tells the Boston Herald. "But seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like 'What the hell. I might as well raise my hand for this side.'"

Perry cites national security and economic concerns as his reason to throw his support toward the Arizona Senator.

"I've been a hard-core Republican my whole life," Perry says. "My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you'll get what you're working for."

And although McCain is trailing in the polls, the guitarist says, "I think that he's got a chance."

That is Joe Perry's choice to vote for John McCain. Not to offend Joe Perry. My choice is to vote for Barack Obama.

Joe Perry OR Joe the Plumber would be better than a LOSER like OBAMA. He left Chicago worse than when he got there.
Some community activist ?? He sho' did help that poor Hudson girls' family a safe place to live in Chicago.
Too bad they can't vote for him now !!!

Joe Perry has shot up enough heroin, coke and speed, together with 17 attempts at Treatment which all failed, he has been in love with Steven Tyler, a man, the leader of his band but has never really done a thing himself, now wants to support the old wrinkled over the hill by 25 years, hoping that his gay sex drive and statements will make his band, all whom are for Obama & attempting to save our great nation! Joe is another junky wanting to feel "cool" important, in fact sence he's "Joe the guitar Player" Joe said the only reason he said that, was to "hopehully get into Sarah's pants" All true & on tape!

Um...is Joe Perry helping McCain by endorsing him? He's not exactly the country's most upstandingn citizen.

He's alot more upstanding than AYERS, REZKO, Farrakkan, Snoop Dogg, and Rev Wright.

Perry not an upstanding citizen? Maybe beack 30 years ago when he and Tyler were the "Toxic twins" but Joe has been clean and sober for many years. He is a good man and a great performer. I too was supporting McCain before Perry's endorsement, and am glad to see Joe step up. I also know his mother and she is Republican all the way

My thoughts exactly. Who gives a damn what Joe Perry thinks? Is he known for his intelligence and/or political savvy? Not quite!

    Gary, Thank you!at 11-03-2008

He is the perfect example of what makes this country work. Hard work, talent and commitment gets you success and the American dream. Not handouts! I knew I loved Aerosmith for a reason. God Bless America! I will keep saying that even if someone changes the law preventing me from saying it. One Nation Under God...

I wish more men would have stood up for McCain, McCain stood for our men/country, the least we could do is be respectful, rather they voted for him or not.
