On This Date in 1985: 'Part-Time Lover,' by Stevie Wonder, takes over the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.

The Almanac Advises for November 2: "Many young people, instead of entering into committed romantic relationships, are partaking in more casual affairs. One increasingly popular form is the 'friend with benefits' arrangement"
