Maynard James Keenan Opens Store in Ghost Town

Once known as the wickedest town in the West, and currently called America's largest ghost town, Jerome, Arizona is now also home to a gift shop for Puscifer, the artist-collective headed by Tool's Maynard James Keenan. "The idea was to give the actual band a little more flair, in terms of a physical retail store," Keenan tells Spinner. In addition to displaying items already available through Puscifer's website, the store will offer "a rotating assortment of wacky gifts that come from the creative unconscious of whoever's involved with the project."

But why open a one band stand in a supposedly wicked ghost town? "Well, I live in Arizona," says Keenan, matter-of-factly. "That'd be the first reason we opened it there. It's a nice artistic outlet. Jerome has always been hailed as an artist community; lots of creative energy coming out of here." Lots of metal, too -- Jerome originally got its start as a Wild West mining town.

Puscifer's only album, 'V is for Vagina,' recently got the dub remix treatment in the form of the nine-song 'D is for Dubby' by Lustmord. You can always shop for it online, but if you're in the neighborhood, feel free to pick it up at the store.
