Nirvana Baby Gets Back in the Pool, Again

Back in the early '90s, an infant boy was dropped into a swimming pool and photographed underwater in his birthday onesie. That surreal image went on to become the cover art for arguably the most influential album of the whole decade, Nirvana's breakthrough LP, 'Nevermind.'

Now, the all-growed-up cover boy has gone back to the original pool in Pasadena, Calif. and recreated that image -- complete with the dollar bill fishing lure and a new accessory: shorts. Elden did a similar recreation in 2003 for Rolling Stone to commemorate the album's tenth anniversary. "Weird Al" Yankovic parodied the famous cover for his 'Off the Deep End' album.

Spencer Elden is now a 17-year-old high school student living in California. His parents were paid a mere $200 dollars for the image, taken by photographer Kirk Weddle. Speaking with MTV last year, Elden joked that it's "kind of creepy" that so many people have seen him naked. More than 10 million copies of the album have been sold, according to the RIAA, and millions more are just plain familiar with the iconic image. He added: "I feel like I'm the world's biggest porn star!"

Actually, that'd be Ron Jeremy.

I love when losers on here feel the need to call anyone a idiot or loser and put down their opinions/music such as jonas brother or backstreet boys etc.... Who they listen to is irrelevant. If they don't think Nirvana is the best band ever who cares that's there opinion, but for you to try to demean or degrade someone for not sharing your opinion, and yes it's just a opinion, you're the loser, and a waste of time. Fact, Nivana sold some records, fact, they were ok, Fact, did the sell the most ever, no. Fact does the make them bad or good, no. Opinion; nirvana is the best ever/worst ever, just opinion.

No success, no matter how great or sudden doesn't kill someone. They kill themselves. Nothing wrong with killing yourself but lets get that correct. Nirvana is Way overrated. They aren't without talent, but not legendary in my opinion. Kurt couldn't sing to save his life, and some of his lyrics we're so bad, but nothing i'm going to die over. The only thing i really rememeber about him is that he was cute/sexy. That and he was really sad, and needed help. He obviously wasn't willing to help himself, or get the help he needed to he died. It's sad, no matter who it is to lose someone you love, even worse when you lose them to sucide and they had so much more to live for/give to the world before they died, but they didn't. Alot of the coulda woulda shoulda's. I respect them, but i would have to say they are overrated, good band, but not best/life changing but definately good.

Reality check.

Pearl Jam that is.... has gone places that Nervana never had !

Many don't realize that his stomach ailment is why he killed himself !

Reality check.

At certain moments they were untouchable, many other moments they Krt seem lost and not polished.

listen to On The Muddy Banks live cd.....

I just wished he did not dislike Pearl Jam cause they were and are greater in many ways then them !

Nirvana is mediocre at best. Not at all in the same category as Lennon or McCartney. Can I blame them for how sucky music is now?

I thought Nirvana was a great band but thats my opinion and last time I checked everyones entitled to one. Trying to change someones mind about music they dont like is pointless and a waste of time. I love all kinds of music and Im very open minded. If people dont like the music you like just say fuck em their loss.
