Seller's Description: "On September 29, 2008, I interviewed Richard McGibony a very close friend of Johnny Cash about the items that will be offering on auction in the next several weeks. During the early years John and Richard were 'buddies and hung out together.' We will be auctioning several items that Richard has that were personally given to him by Johnny Cash. Each piece that will go on auction will have a copy of the recorded interview explaining how the object was obtained and become part of the item that will go to the winning bidder. The unedited interviews are very interesting and actually quite entertaining since they explains how this item relates to and was obtain by Richard and perhaps a story or two that not at all times are related to that particular item but very interesting. Again, these tapes that you will hear are unedited, but full of information and also offer great listening. Johnny Cash memorabilia that we will be offering include signed checks, letters, studio demo tapes, clothing, signed books, a hubcap from John's Cadillac (a great story about this), an original copy of a letter that explains when Richard bailed out John from jail by putting his home as bond. Richard is also mentioned in a few books about Johnny. Included in this auction are the Hubcap -- recorded conversation, and pictures."

Our Take: This dented hubcap could be your good lucky break. Cash lost it when he drove into a ditch near the Nickajack Cave in Tenn.. In 1968, the Man in Black was allegedly high on drugs when he went to the cave, planning to end his life. Instead, he passed out. He woke up spiritually awakened and ready to sober up. If you looking for luck, take it from a guy who shirked death, found love, won Grammys and earned a home in four music Halls of Fame.
