Stephen Colbert Launches 'Operation Humble Kanye'

Predictably, Kanye West's latest album, '808s and Heartbreaks,' rocketed to No. 1 on the iTunes chart during its initial sales week. Considering his own album hangs around No. 16, it isn't exactly surprising that Stephen Colbert has comedic fighting words for "the artist who is currently number one, sunglasses display mannequin Kanye West." Enter Colbert's 'Operation Humble Kanye.'

Challenging West's proclamation the he is the voice of this generation, on Monday night's 'Colbert Report,' Colbert said, "With all the auto-tuning on your records, you're barely the voice of your own album. You want to be the voice of a generation? Get in line." Watch the full clip here.

Fighting arrogance with arrogance, Colbert is asking the assistance of everyone (or, at least his fans and viewers) to purchase his album, 'A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All,' at precisely 5 PM EST on Wednesday, December 3, via iTunes.

And if it doesn't work, Stephen, might we suggest challenging Kanye to a thumb war?
