On This Date in 1961: 'Please Mr. Postman,' by the Marvelettes, arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.The Almanac Advises for December 11: "Incidents of rage by postal workers upon their peers and supervisors have been on the rise. These workplace attacks, sometimes homicidal, have given rise to the phrase 'going postal' for stress-related job aggression, regardless of the profession."
