'Constructive Summer,' The Hold Steady
The Brooklyn-based "world's greatest bar band" pulled off calling an album 'Stay Positive' during these troubled times, and they even legitimately gave us something to feel positive about, in the form of 'Constructive Summer.' And while the lyrics are as richly complex as early Bruce Springsteen, it's simply the kind of anthem that makes you want to sing along, while hoisting a PBR tallboy and raising "a toast to Saint Joe Strummer."Buy it on iTunes

I think me and my wife'll invite them to the trailer out here in the backwoods of West Virginia to play for us and to drink some white lightning and some homemade beer. He sounds like he could use something to drink after all that hoopin and hollerin. Man, they play them banjos and pianos real good don't they.
